Peterborough recall David Ball from Rochdale loan

Peterborough United have today recalled David Ball early from his loan spell at League One side Rochdale.

The striker initially penned a three-month loan deal on the 1st September but in accordance with the terms of the deal Posh were allowed to cut his time at Spotland short at any time.

The 21-year-old scored four times while out on loan but told the club’s official website his focus now turns to establishing himself as a regular in Peterborough’s first team:

“The loan move was good for me in terms of the fact that I got a run of games in the first team. I have not really had six or seven games in a row before and it worked out well because I managed to score a few goals and help Rochdale move up the table a bit.

“The month was enjoyable, but my focus now is trying to get into the first team at Peterborough. This is a good opportunity for me. I feel I am capable of playing in this team week in, week out now, but it is up to me to show that in training and in the matches.”

Posh’s front-line has been short on goals in recent weeks with a brace from deadline day signing Emile Sinclair on the 17th September against Burnley the last time a forward found the net.

It represents a perfect chance for Ball to establish himself in the team as he looks to build upon his 27 appearances for the club since joining in the January transfer window.
