Portsmouth secure loan move for City youngster Razak

Manchester City’s Ivorian youngster Abdul Razak has joined Championship outfit Portsmouth on loan until the end of December. Having failed to force his way in Roberto Mancini’s first team plans, Razak will be hoping to get some first team experience under his belt before returning to the Etihad Stadium.

Razak, 18, has been knocked back in the pecking order due to the club’s big spending on talented players. He has however started both League Cup games this term, including the 5-2 demolition of Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Wednesday.

Portsmouth have had an indifferent start to the season in the Championship and currently sit 16th in the table ahead of their trip to Pride Park today to face Derby. Pompey are also without a manager following the departure of Steve Cotterill to Nottingham Forest so Razak will play for caretaker manager Guy Whittingham, who brought him to Fratton Park.
