Redknapp backs Blackburn manager over recent protests

Harry Redknapp has plenty of sympathy for Blackburn manager Steve Kean’s plight, but that wont stop the Spurs manager from trying to condemn Blackburn to a sixth defeat this season, reports the Mirror.

Despite continued support from his employers Venky’s Kean has faced overwhelming calls for his dismissal from the Blackburn faithful including mass fan protests, something that surprises Redknapp.

“I’m somewhat perplexed by this anti Steve Kean thing that is going on” said Redknapp. These protests by home fans don’t help anyone and ultimately they get to the players, which undermines the fabric of the club completely.”

Despite his admission of sympathy, the Spurs manager is expecting nothing else than three points for his improving Spurs side: I would expect us to take the three points. I am delighted with our form. I think we have gone nine games unbeaten now and takes 13 points out of 15 in the league. That is title winning form.”
