Sagna has successful surgery and eyes December Arsenal return

Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna has successfully undergone surgery on the fractured leg injury picked-up in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

A statement on the clubs’ official website told: “Bacary Sagna has undergone further assessment and investigations on his fractured right fibula with the club’s medical team and specialists. As a result of these tests, Bacary has had surgery to stabilise the injury.

“The surgery went according to plan and there has been no significant alteration to the initial prognosis that Bacary will be out of action for a minimum of three months.”

The France international should therefore return to the side in time for the busy Christmas period of the season.
