Swansea City have revealed that they are ready to open contract negotiations with star wideman Scott Sinclair, who is ready to extend his Swans deal, according to Sky
The 22 year old joined the South Wales side from Chelsea last season and was a major contributor in Swansea’s promotion, scoring a hat-trick in the Championship Play-Off Final against Reading. Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to keep Sinclair and is ready to reward him following a string of impressive performances.
Rodgers said: ‘I feel if you have an asset at the club, whether it’s player or manager, then it is in the best interests of the club to tie them down. I have spoken to Scott already. Scott’s happy and we have regular communication to know where he is at.
‘It’s a situation we will look at as a football club. He is loving his football and is in a great place for his development. He loves being here’, the Swansea boss added.
Swansea currently lie in 15th and surrendered a two goal lead in the last 10 minutes at the weekend against Wolves at Molineux to lose two vital points in their fight for survival this season.
