Terry welcomes FA racism enquiry

Chelsea and England captain John Terry has he would ‘welcome’ an FA enquiry as he claims he has nothing to fear, and it will be a great chance to clear his name. Some viewers of the Queens Park Rangers match on Sunday believed they saw Terry allegedly using racist and offensive terms to centre-half Anton Ferdinand.

The FA have received a complaint, but Terry insists he has done nothing wrong and is very eager to draw a line under the issue.

“I welcome the FA enquiry and look forward to clearing my name. I would never say such a thing – and I’m saddened that people would think so”

Terry denied the allegations straight after the game on Sunday claiming that people “have leapt to the wrong conclusions about the context of what I was seen to be saying”.
