Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has revealed he is hopeful that the club will sign Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill in January, according to The
Spurs had a bid for the 25-year-old rejected on the final day of the summer transfer window, but now Redknapp has spoken of his desire to make another offer for the player, whose contract expires next summer.
“We couldn’t get a deal done for Cahill,” said the Tottenham boss. “That’s not to say we won’t try again in January. If the chairman can reach an agreement with Bolton I’d love to bring him here.”
Cahill, who is also a target for Spurs’ London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, has recently broken into the England first team, and scored his first international goal against Bulgaria last month.
