Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has identified Manchester United pair Rio Ferdinand and Michael Owen as potential loan signings as he looks to strengthen his squad in order to boost his side’s chances of playing in the Champions League, The
Sir Alex Ferguson showed that Ferdinand is not guaranteed a place in the starting XI when he dropped him on Saturday after his poor performance against Manchester City last weekend and Redknapp could offer him a temporary move to Spurs in order to boost his chances of featuring for England in Euro 2012.
Spurs could also make a move for striker Owen to add some depth to their strikeforce. Redknapp relies heavily on Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe up front and has very little cover for them other than Roman Pavlyuchenko and bringing the experienced frontman in on loan until the end of the season would provide the cover he needs.
