Valencia duo Costa and Parejo frustrated at marginalisation by Unai Emery

Ricardo Costa and Dani Parejo are reportedly on the verge of leaving Valencia in the January transfer window after finding themselves marginalised by Unai Emery.

Centre-back Costa has not featured for the team since Week 2’s opening fixture of the season when he was substituted at half-time during Valencia’s 4-3 win over Racing Santander. Meanwhile, Parejo has only managed one start for Los Che himself – 73 minutes against Genk in the Champions League.

Marca are running the line that both are said to have been hugely disappointed to not even make the matchday squad for Valencia’s match at the weekend with Granada and that the belief is a winter move is not out of contention.

Parejo did miss the start of pre-season but is understood to harbour ambitions of making Spain’s Olympic 2012 squad whilst Costa is reportedly the more frustrated of the pair, for being previously identified as one of the team’s vice-captains after a strong pre-season that saw him feature heavily.

Tino Costa and Aritz Aduriz have also seen very few minutes so far this term, whilst Angel Dealbert – expected to leave in January or next summer on a free – has not made a single appearance.
