Vidic sends out warning to title competitors

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has warned their title rivals that his club are back and hungry for victory, The Sun reports.

Vidic had to sit and painfully watch as his side were dismantled at the hands of their cross-city nemesis Manchester City 6-1 at Old Trafford. The 30 year old Serbian was restored to the heart of the United defence this weekend and produced a magnificent display to keep a clean sheet for his side, as they won 1-0.

The Serbian is now keen to get United back on track and believes that the players are getting back to basics in order to gain victories. Vidic also revealed how the club have not dwelt on the City game and are moving on to the next outing, which is a tie against Romanian champions Otelul Galati in the Champions League.

‘It was important to defend like a team and get back to playing as a team. In the last 20 minutes against City we didn’t do that. That’s why we were disappointed. But since then we’ve come back to the way we used to play’, Vidic added.
