Villarreal have declared that their talismanic Italian striker and long-time Tottenham target Giuseppe Rossi will not leave the club during the January transfer window.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has made no secret of his desire to sign Rossi in the past, and previously revealed that the club had a £35 million bid rejected on the final day of the January window earlier this year.
Now, the Spanish club have reiterated their intention to hold on to the 24-year-old, with vice-president Jose Manuel Llaneza telling Tuttomercato
“Will we sell him? This is not our intention at all,” said Llaneza. “We are happy with what he is doing for us and we have no reason to sell.”
Tottenham are likely to want to sign a striker in January with rumours growing that Roman Pavlyuchenko will be leaving White Hart Lane.
