Andre Villas-Boas believes that his player Juan Mata is equally as good as fellow Spaniard and Manchester City playmaker David Silva.
Silva has had a remarkable start to the season, being the catalyst for City’s rise to the top of the table. However Mata has enjoyed equal success bagging 2 goals and 3 assists since his move in the summer.
When asked whether Mata could emulate David Silva, Villas-Boas told the Press
The Portuguese manager went on go Mata very high praise indeed. “He’s a player who likes to find different spaces to receive the ball and he finds correct spaces.
“His dynamism of movement allows the other players to find him in different positions for the benefit of the squad. I would say that his individual characteristics have brought these kinds of movements to our game.”
