Villas-Boas: Winning this season is tougher than under Mourinho

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas believes that winning the title this year would be harder than when Jose Mourinho won the league, The Sun reports.

The Blues boss has not downplayed the achievements of his former mentor, but has stated that the league is more competitive this term and it will be harder to win. Villas-Boas said: ‘It’s much more competitive – not in the sense of taking the merit off what has been done in the past. But more teams now look as if they’re in title contention’. There are at least five teams who could be included in the title race and Villas-Boas knows that he must pick up points where there is a more comfortable game, like this weekend’s fixture against newly-promoted Queens Park Rangers.
