Villas-Boas calls for pride in England skipper Terry

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has called for the English public to be proud of England captain John Terry, the Sun reports.

Terry has been under public scrutiny all week for the racism allegations he is facing after last weekend’s 1-0 loss to QPR. The Chelsea skipper is accused of making racist remarks to QPR defender Anton Ferdinand and there have been rumours over whether he was in the right frame of mind for today’s fixture.

The Portuguese manager said: “I see no reason why he should not play. JT has been excellent in training and I have no concerns about his state of mind. John Terry is the captain of your England team and your country and I think you should be proud of him.
