As reward for the series of impressive performances he has turned in for Manchester United this season, Danny Welbeck has been offered a new contract by the club, which if accepted will result in the 20-year old England International earning treble the wages he currently receives at Old Trafford, Goal.com
At present Welbeck is on a £15,000 per week contract, which still has 18 month to run, but after discussions with United’s power brokers, the player is believed to have been invited to sign a deal worth £50,000 for the next five years.
Given the contribution Welbeck has made to United’s unbeaten start to this season and undoubted potential he possesses, Sir Alex Ferguson is understandably very eager for the player to commit his long-term future to the Red Devils. However, Welbeck is thought to be relaxed about signing a new contract and is set to do so in his own time.
