According to reports, West Ham Boss Sam Allardyce is looking to sign out of contract Senegalese striker El Hadji Diouf.
Diouf has been without a club since leaving Premier League strugglers Blackburn Rovers at the end of August and Allardyce, who has managed him previously at both Rovers and Bolton Wanderers respectively, has now handed his former charge a trial at his current club.
The Hammers have started their season well and sit fourth in the Championship after today’s fixtures. If a deal for Diouf is concluded, Allardyce will be hoping his experience and ability will help the club maintain their run of decent form:
“There is something missing from our squad and Diouf could be that missing link. He has played for two of my teams before so I know exactly what kind of quality I will be getting.”
