Anderson out until February with cruciate ligament injury

Manchester United midfielder Anderson has been ruled out of action until February after suffering a knee injury, The Telegraph reports.

Anderson was forced to undergo an operation two years ago after cruciate ligament damage and has been sent to a specialist in Portugal for further assessment. The midfielder has not played since the Champions League group game against Otelul Galati on November 2nd and the injury has turned out worse than first feared.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: ‘Anderson is out until February with a knee injury. He’s been sent to Portugal to see a specialist who operated on him before. Not good news’.

The injury to the Brazilian adds further woes to the United midfield with Tom Cleverley out of action with an ankle injury. Despite these woes, Ferguson will not buy anybody else in the January transfer window. The United boss revealed that there are two or three players he would want, but they are not available to buy.
