Arsenal are keen on signing Nottingham Forest’s teenage defender Jamal Lascelles, according to the Daily
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has identified Lascelles as another player to bring to his young and talented squad at the Emirates. Wenger has a penchant for signing young players and is desperate to bring in the 18 year old defender, who has been tipped as a star for the future. Arsenal will face competition from a host of Premier League clubs for the England under 19 international. Wenger has sent his most trusted aides, including chief scout Steve Rowley, to focus on Lascelles and file a comprehensive report.
Lascelles could come cheap with a fee of approximately £2m likely to tempt Forest to sell. Within that deal, there will be various clauses related to future appearances and success that Forest would be happy with. The 18 year old defender has not spoken on his future, but Arsenal believe they have the right offer to attract him.
