Manchester United winger Nani very nearly signed for German giants Bayern Munich in the summer, Bild
The Portuguese winger has impressed since his 2007 move from Sporting Lisbon to Old Trafford.
Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed the club had plans to sign Nani in the Summer, but were priced out of the move because United were keen to recoup much more than the £18m they paid for the 25 year old. Nani is now expected to sign a new contract at Old Trafford to keep him a United player for the majority of his career.
Rummenigge said: ‘Nani has always had potential. Some of those who come to our club from abroad do it quickly, others gradually grow into it. Nani is one of those’.
