Berbatov agent admits interest in Anzhi move

Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov has been linked with a move to mega-rich Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, The Manchester Evening News reports.

The 30 year old Bulgarian signed for the Premier League champions in 2008 and cost United £30.75m from Tottenham Hotspur. Berbatov’s time at Old Trafford has dwindled since his arrival and so far this season, he has made just one Premier League start.

French side Paris Saint Germain are weighing up the possibility of a swoop for the former Bulgarian international and with Berbatov’s contract running out in the summer, a move is expected for the Bulgarian to switch from Manchester. Anzhi are prepared to make a £15m bid for Berbatov and could pay the striker £7.5m a year.

Berbatov’s agent Danchev said: ‘We would be interested when Anzhi make a concrete offer. We will sit down with Dimitar and ponder this. I don’t know if Dimitar is happy in Manchester. He plays, then he just sits on the bench’.
