Cech has the blues after poor Chelsea form

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has declared his frustration at the club’s recent performances. The towering Czech blamed basic errors for the Blues’ shaky form which continued on Tuesday with a disappointing 1-1 draw to Genk.

Cech has warned his team-mates that they cannot continue to make errors if they are to challenge for the title this season. The 29-year-old said: “We can’t afford to drop many more points because we are already behind”, he told the Daily Mail. “It was close last year but we didn’t catch Manchester United so we can’t allow too much of an advantage.

“At the moment we get punished almost every time we make a mistake but we have been making too many of them.”

Chelsea have failed to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League since their opening weekend 0-0 draw away to Stoke.
