Chamakh set for Arsenal exit

Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh could be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium and joining Spanish side Sevilla, Metro reports.

The Moroccan forward has struggled for games so far this season because of the sensational play of Arsenal captain Robin van Persie, but Wenger is keen to keep Chamakh in the club and sees him as part of his plans. Sevilla sporting director Monchi is keen on recruiting Chamakh and is lining up a £7m offer for the forward. Wenger may prefer a loan move if he was willing to let Chamakh leave and the interest of Everton could see Chamakh move to Merseyside on a short-term deal in January.

Chamakh signed for the Gunners from Bordeaux last summer, but has failed to show his true ability in an Arsenal shirt. If Chamakh does leave the club, Wenger is looking towards Cologne forward Lukas Podolski as an immediate replacement.
