Chelsea looking at Spanish wonderkid

ESPN are reporting that Chelsea are facing a battle from Arsenal and Manchester United to sign Spanish starlet Javier Gonzales of Spanish fourth tier team Laredo.

The young striker moved to Laredo in the summer from Atheltic Bilbao, and so far this season has smashed 20 goals in just seven appearances, and is attracting the attention of the three English clubs as well as Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Chelsea appear in the pole position to make the signing, due to their extensive scouting network that is set-up in Spain. They are also closely watching 16-year-old Real Madrid keeper Jose Pozo as Andre Villas-Boas looks to emphasise on developing the youth system at Stamford Bridge.
