Chelsea want to find Ferdinand taunt fans

Chelsea have begun an investigation in an attempt to identify the fans who taunted Anton Ferdinand in a chant during their recent Champions League game at Genk, The Mirror reports.

Fans were heard to abuse Ferdinand, who recently made claims of racism against Chelsea captain John Terry, and now the Blues are trying to find those responsible.

“The chanting on Tuesday night by a vocal minority was wholly inappropriate and Chelsea Football Club does not condone such behaviour,” said a club spokesperson.

“We work closely with the football authorities and anti-racism organisations and we are fully committed to eradicating racism and all other forms of discrimination from the game.”

It is believed that Chelsea will use CCTV footage from the game in order to identify those who sang thoe offensive chant.
