Clarke praises efforts of Maxi Rodriguez

Liverpool coach Steve Clarke has praised the professionalism of winger Maxi Rodriguez and highlighted the strength of depth in the squad, The Liverpool Echo reports.

Rodriguez marked his first Premier League start of the season with a goal against Chelsea, which is his eighth strike in his last five league appearances stretching back to last season. The Argentinian has not seen much gametime for the Reds since the arrival of summer signing Stewart Downing, but has been exemplary when called upon.

Clarke has recognised the qualities that the 30 year old has and believes that the way Rodriguez conducts himself is a shining example to his team-mates.

‘Everybody here knows the qualities of Maxi. When you’re not in the team, it’s difficult to come in every day, work hard and be prepared for your chance. Maxi has worked hard every day in training. Not just Maxi, but all the players – they’ve worked hard in training, they wait for their chance’, the Liverpool coach said.
