Coquelin wants Arsenal exit after lack of opportunities

French midfielder Francis Coquelin is ready to leave Arsenal this summer following his lack of first team football at the club, The Daily Star reports.

Coquelin has started just two games this season for the Gunners, which comes as no surprise for a player who has been on the Arsenal fringes since his signing from Stade Lavallois in 2008. Coquelin spent last season on loan at Lorient in France and believes that the lack of action he is receiving at the Emirates Stadium is forcing a transfer.

The 20 year old said: ‘It is often said that when you are young you have time but I played a whole season at Lorient and now I’m virtually not playing at all. It’s annoying.’

Coquelin was a figure early in the season when the Gunners were suffering from injuries and was on the field for the 8-2 drubbing Arsenal received at the hands of Manchester United. Once the regular Arsenal players returned to the side, the French midfielder was reduced back to limited appearances for the club and he is now desperate for a move.
