Coyle puts Tottenham on alert over Cahill deal

Tottenham are on alert after Bolton boss Owen Coyle admitted he would prefer to cash in on Gary Cahill as soon as possible in the January transfer window in order to avoid protracted transfer talks.

25-year-old Cahill was subject to failed bids from Tottenham and Arsenal in the summer on transfer deadline day. Chelsea are now also thought to be interested in a move for the England International, with the centre-back’s current deal expiring at the end of the season.

“If something comes in, it would probably be better sooner rather than later,” Coyle told the Daily Mirror. “THe further we get into the window it can make it a very difficult market. It’s fraught with danger, we can all accept that.”
