Dalglish angered by Chelsea League Cup clash

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is furious that his sides League Cup quarter final tie at Chelsea is to be played just two days after The Red’s welcome Manchester City to Anfield for an important fixture

Dalglish had requested that the game be put back a day to give his squad more time to recover, but The Football League rejected this leaving the Scot fuming. “It is disgraceful in this day and age that players are being asked to play a key Premier League game and then a League Cup quarter-final in London just 48 hours later.”

The Liverpool Echo goes on to report that the Football League rejected the request due to Trade Union taking place in London on that date. Dalglish has therefore warned supporters to think twice before purchasing tickets as he may be forced to play a heavily weakened and youthful team at Stamford Bridge.
