Dalglish wants to extend Liverpool unbeaten run

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has hailed the mean streak in his side that have allowed them to go unbeaten for nine games, The Liverpool Daily Post reports.

Last weekend’s win at Chelsea makes it nine games since the Reds suffered defeat and have only conceded six goals in the past two months. The Reds’ defence suffered a shaky pre-season and start to the campaign, but have regained themselves to sit alongside Manchester City as the best defensive record in the league.

Liverpool face unbeaten City at Anfield on Sunday and Dalglish has praised the way his side have become resilient defensively, not just from the back, but throughout the whole team. The Reds will be hoping for another good performance to snap City’s unbeaten start to the season.

Dalglish said: ‘It’s not just Pepe and the lads at the back who are responsible for that. It’s everyone. The game was our ninth without defeat in all competitions. That’s a good response to the losses at Stoke and Spurs back in September. We’ll just keep going now and see how far we can stretch this run’.
