Everton target loan move for Tottenham striker

Want-away Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko could move to Everton on loan in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

The 29-year-old Russian has been left out in the cold by the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor and the form of Rafael van der Vaart, and is concerned it may cost him a place in Russia’s Euro 2012 squad. “I have to do something in the transfer period. We’re ahead of the European Championship; if I don’t change [my club] then Euro 2012 will be played without me.”

However, Everton could face competition for Pavlyuchenko, with Inside Futbol reporting that Lille are interested in a swap deal involving 25-year-old Senegal international Moussa Sow. Sow was Lille’s top scorer in their title winning campaign last season, and is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
