Everton are hopeful of signing out-of-favour Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko on loan in the January transfer window, according to The
Pavlyuchenko has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane and has made just two Premier League appearances so far this season.
The 29-year-old wants regular first-team football to secure a place in Russia’s squad for Euro 2012, and is willing to move clubs to boost his chances.
“I have to do something in the transfer period,” he said. “If I don’t change (my club) then Euro 2012 will be played without me.”
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is believed to be happy to let Pavlyuchenko leave, preferring an attack of Rafael van der Vaart and Emmanuel Adebayor with Jermain Defoe in reserve.
