Fabio Aurelio wants Liverpool first-team spot

Liverpool defender Fabio Aurelio is desperate to force his way back into the plans of manager Kenny Dalglish, The Liverpool Echo reports.

The Brazilian left-back has not featured for Liverpool so far this season and has only made the Reds matchday squad once this season, as an unused substitute in the Carling Cup tie against Stoke City last month. Summer signing Jose Enrique has kept Aurelio out of the picture and the emergence of young left back Jack Robinson seems to have frozen the 32 year old Brazilian out of the squad. Aurelio is desperate to prove his worth and get back amongst the first team again.

Aurelio said: ‘I’ve been training and waiting for the opportunity to have minutes on the pitch. When you’re at a big club, you have to be ready to take the opportunity. It’s in Kenny’s hands whether he decides if he wants to use me or not, but my desire is always to be available’.
