Ferguson dismisses ‘inappropriate’ Poyet comments

Brighton boss Gus Poyet has been blasted by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson for his comments made about United defender Patrice Evra, Sky Sports reports.

Poyet called the United left-back a ‘crybaby’ for accusing Liverpool forward Luis Suarez of racial abuse. Suarez has been charged by the Football Association, but veherently denies the claims and is planning to fight to clear his name. Ferguson has expressed his surprise at Poyet’s involvement in the situation and called the comments ‘inappropriate’ at a time where racism is a fiery topic within world football.

The Scotsman said: ‘I think that’s inappropriate at the time when people throughout the world are condemning racism. I can understand he wants to support someone from his country but he’s got to think more about it’.
