Ferguson insists Man Utd do not need new signings in January

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists that his side will not buy players in January, The Mirror reports.

With injuries to midfielders Tom Cleverley and Anderson, as well as criticism over their recent performance, the signs were that Ferguson would dip into the funds and sign a top drawer centre midfielder in January. The Scottish boss reveals that there will be on signing and he has backed his squad to come through the testing time they are facing. Ferguson spoke of how difficult it is for his side to buy players and that some of his wishlist are unavailable, but believes that the experienced players he has will stand his side in good stead for the title run-in.

The United boss said: ‘We’re not as bad as people think at the moment. I think we’re okay, we’ve got a strong squad. It’s dead easy to say are you going to buy players, but it’s not easy to buy players for Manchester United. I don’t see anyone really who can make us a better team from the players who are possibly available’.
