Johnson tore his hamstring at the end of last season and then in pre-season, which threatened to destabilise any recovery for the England international right back. The right back has paid tribute to Liverpool for helping him through injury and is grateful for what they have done for him.
Johnson said: ‘I’ve had some disappointing times with injuries, which has been difficult. But hopefully I’ve put that behind me now and can push on… It was hard to stay positive but we have great physios at Liverpool and they kept me going. Beating Spain is a good way to come back’, the England international added.
