Hiddink linked with Chelsea return

Sky Sports have reported that Guus Hiddink may make a popular return to Stamford Bridge following his failure to guide Turkey to the 2012 European Championships in Ukraine and Poland. A 3-0 aggregate defeat against Croatia in a play-off match sealed their fate and now might pave the way for Hiddink to return to the club he brought FA Cup success to in 2009.

The Dutchman always said he would not consider his future until his role with Turkey had ended and he is expected to relinquish his duty with the national side this week. Hiddink has since said: “I’ve not made up my mind about the future yet. It was great at Chelsea, a terrific time, but that doesn’t mean I am ready to start tomorrow. I need some time to reflect.”

It is unclear in what capacity he may return, but it may be an advisory role as opposed to any coaching duties.
