Huddersfield loan Cardiff striker Jon Parkin to cover Alan Lee absence

League One promotion chasers Huddersfield Town have signed Cardiff forward Jon Parkin on loan until the 23rd January.

The giant front-man joins the Terriers to cover a slight striker shortage after Alan Lee received a straight red card and a subsequent three-match suspension for a stray elbow in the win over Notts County at the weekend.

The 29-year-old found the net against Lee Clark’s men in the Carling Cup earlier this season and will be looking to force his way into a side that now boast a staggering 43-game unbeaten record.

Clark saw a lot in Parkin that night and told the club’s official website he was pleased to be able to bring him to the Galpharm Stadium: “We feel that Jon will be able to fill the gap that has been made due to Alan’s suspension. We have seen what he can do at first hand when he played against us for Cardiff in the Carling Cup fixture. He was very good on the night and I think sometimes he doesn’t get the credit that he deserves.

“We are looking forward to having him and he will go straight into the squad for the game against Charlton.”
