Johnson praises Adam for part in Liverpool winner

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has heaped praise on midfielder Charlie Adam following Johnson’s late winner against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, liverpoolfc.tv reports. Johnson scored the decisive goal in Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Chelsea and many have called it a quality finish after he danced through Ashley Cole and slotted home coolly. Johnson has played down the praise and claims it was down to the exquisite ball from the Scotland international. Adam also robbed John Obi Mikel off the ball, which contributed to the Blues opening goal, and the Reds right back believes that Adam is getting better and better to show the true quality he has at the football club.

The former Chelsea defender said: ‘It was fantastic to score the winner and it was a great pass from Charlie. It was brilliant for Charlie, because he also played a big role in our opening goal. It’s sometimes difficult in a tight game to find the space, but when you have a player like Charlie, once is often enough for you to get the chance to score’.
