Manchester City must present their defensive abilities against Liverpool on Sunday, according to City centre-back Joleon Lescott.
City were ripped apart by the Reds last season and came away with a 3-0 defeat, but Lescott insists that the defeat at Anfield, along with their defeats in the Champions League away at Bayern Munich and Napoli, have educated the side on what to do against the big sides.
Lescott said: ‘It’s a learning curve, but we have to realise that we can’t keep scoring so many goals to win games. If you look at our defensive record, it’s one of the best in the league, but obviously to score more goals, more people need to go forward so we need to make sure we are right at the back’.
