Liverpool beat Chelsea to 14 year old prospect

Liverpool look to have beaten Chelsea in the race to sign 14 year old Oluwaseyi Ojo from MK Dons. It was thought that The Blues had tied up a deal for Ojo last month having placed a £2million bid for him after watching him in an England youth international match.

The Daily Mail reports that sources close to the League 1 player suggest that Ojo believes he has a greater chance of getting first team football at Anfield, which he feels will be harder to achieve at Stamford Bridge.

The MK Dons Chairman Pete Winkleman voiced his full support of Ojo’s move. “This is the opportunity of a lifetime for Seyi and his parents which has proved far too difficult to turn down. Everyone at the club would like to wish Seyi the best of luck and we all look forward to the day he runs out at Anfield.”
