Liverpool continue to back Suarez in race row

Liverpool and boss Kenny Dalglish are still strong in their stance of support for striker Luis Suarez following the Uruguayan being charged with racial abuse by The FA. The charge relates to an incident where words were exchanged between Suarez and Manchester United’s Patrice Evra in the clash at Anfield back in October.

The club and Suarez are appealing on the grounds that his Spanish was misinterpreted, and Dalglish fully backs his striker’s case. “We’ve not changed our stance and the statement says everything that we need to say. We’ll just move on and take it as it comes now and see what happens. We don’t drift from what we’ve said. We can’t afford to. We said we wanted it done quickly but correctly.”

Speaking to The Telegraph Dalglish went on to say that he doesn’t believe the adversity surrounding Suarez will affect his form in the coming matches.
