The 31 year old has fallen drastically out of favour at the Nou Camp following his move from Sevilla and Liverpool were the reported front-runners to bring the midfielder to England. However, competition from the wealth of Anzhi has forced Keita to rethink any move he makes. Liverpool would now have to wait until the summer to sign the Malian and Keita has recently spoke of the way he feels towards the Reds.
If Keita was to move to Russia and join Anzhi, he would link up with ex-Barcelona teammate Samuel Eto’o. ‘Liverpool are a great club and it is fantastic to hear they are interested in me. I want to play more games and the Premier League is very attractive and exciting for anyone.’
