Liverpool are planning a bid for midfielder Seydou Keita from Spanish giants Barcelona, according to talkSPORT.
Keita has been out of favour at the Nou Camp and the Reds are contacting Barcelona over the availability of the Malian midfielder. Liverpool have strengthened their midfield considerably this summer, but are looking to Keita to provide more competition within the Anfield squad. Reds manager Kenny Dalglish has been unhappy with his side’s defensive performances and Keita has been seen as the ideal defensive midfielder to break up play for the Liverpool attack.
Keita has been in the shadows for Barcelona since his move from fellow Spanish side Sevilla and could fancy a better challenge in England with the Reds.
