Liverpool sign USA under-17 international

Liverpool have signed Marc Pelosi, captain of the United States under 17 national side, ESPN reports.

Pelosi joins the club’s academy team following his move from De Anza Force Club in California and has eight goals in 28 appearances for the American under 17 national team. ‘We’re determined to identify the best possible talent globally, and I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Marc in to the club’, Liverpool academy director Frank McParland said. Liverpool have been looking to bring in young players since the takeover of Boston based owners Fenway Sports Group. The Reds also have links in America thanks to that ownership and have the ability to scour the best talent from across the pond.
