Manchester City and Chelsea are set to battle it out in January for the signature of young Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen, Metro
Eriksen was a target for both Arsenal and Liverpool during the summer months, but ultimately ended up staying put in Amsterdam.
However, it now seems that the Dutch giants will have their resolve tested once more, with representatives from both City and Chelsea in attendance to monitor the 19-year-old during the 4-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League last week.
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer £22 million for the Danish winger, although City are also keen to secure his signature and hope to outbid the Blues with a bid of £30 million.
Eriksen has won 18 caps for Denmark and was the youngest player at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
