Man City wary of Wright-Phillips threat

Manchester City and manager Roberto Mancini know that ahead of today’s clash with Queens Park Rangers that their greatest threat could lie in the shape of former winger Shaun Wright-Phillips. Having left Eastlands on the last day of the transfer window this summer, this will be the first time he encounters the club he was so popular at in both spells he had there.

According to the Daily Mail Mancini was keen on keeping the 30 year old wide man, but couldn’t give him any guarantees over appearances as the squad got stronger and stronger. “I am sure Shaun will want to play very well against us, but I am happy because now he plays in every game – and he deserves that because he is a good guy and a good player.”

The Italian said his side must ‘pay attention to him’ as he will no doubt want to get one over on his former employers.
