Man Utd duo Welbeck and Jones play part in England victory

England internationals Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck played their part in England’s 1-0 win over World and European Champions Spain.

Jones started in central midfield and impressed against world-class players such as Xavi, Andres Iniesta and David Silva. Welbeck came on as a second-half substitute for Darren Bent towards the end of the game, showing his energy and enthusiasm. Elsewhere, Mexican striker Javier Hernandez scored for his country in their 2-0 victory over Serbia. The scoreline flattered Mexico and Hernandez was given a tough time by Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

Welbeck could make an England start in their midweek friendly against Sweden and Jones is expected to retain his place in midfield after an impressive performance against Spain.
