Premier League champions Manchester United are tracking the progress of French midfielder Benjamin Corgnet, according to L’Equipe.
The 24 year old currently plays with newly promoted Ligue 1 side Dijon and has created interest in his talent through a number of impressive performances. Corgnet has scored six goals in 13 league appearances for the French side and has alerted United boss Sir Alex Ferguson. Scouts from United were in attendance for Dijon’s 2-0 win over Bordeaux and saw Corgnet score the second goal. They are now weighing up a move for the 24 year old and are looking to strengthen their midfield with him.
United face competition from Chelsea and Liverpool, who are also interested in Corgnet, but are confident that they can attract the highly rated midfielder. Dijon are not looking to sell cheaply, but interest from the Premier League could sway Corgnet’s head.
