Man Utd to offer Nani new deal amid Serie A interest

Manchester United winger Nani will be given a pay rise in a new contract deal aimed specifically at warding off interest from other clubs, The Sun reports.

United hierarchy plan to move the Portuguese winger from £90,000 a week to £130,000 a week and take him on par with defenders Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand. Italian giants AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus are all vying for the signature of the 24 year old, but United are fiercely against selling the winger.

Nani’s representatives will hold talks with United in the New Year over the improved contract and those talks should go successfully, warding off interest for the player signed by United boss Sir Alex Ferguson for £18.5m from Sporting Lisbon in 2007.

Ferguson is convinced that Nani can follow in the same vein as Cristiano Ronaldo and is prepared to offer whatever it takes to keep him a part of Manchester United.
