Mancini pleads for City to control adventurous play

Manchester City boss has made a demand on his players that they need to be playing the Italian way, and despite scoring 36 goals in 10 league games Mancini speaks in the Manchester Evening News of how they will not be breaking Chelsea’s record of 103 goals from their title win two seasons ago.

When asked about bettering Chelsea’s tally Mancini said: “That’s impossible. Records are there so that one team can beat them, but this one is impossible. We have good players. I hope we can continue to score but sometimes I hope we can do a 1-0. Sometimes, we need to win the Italian way.”

Mancini wants to build on a solid defence, last season they only conceded 33 goals which is a Premier League record for the club and having only let in 8 so far this term they are on course to better their own achievement.
